The ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) sector is very important in Australian education system.
English sector provides international students with a wide variety of options to learn English.
English programs usually runs from 20 to 25 hours per week with very flexible start dates and the duration can vary from 4 weeks and above. The cost are from 200 AUD to 400 AUD per week depends on the institutes and type of the program .
There are different English programs in Australia to suit different needs
GENERAL ENGLISH (GE)
There is no minimum English language requirement for GE. Students can attend classes from Beginners to Advanced Level. This course helps you to improve your Writing, Listening, Speaking and Reading skills. In most institutes the start dates for GE classes are every Monday .
ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES ( EAP)
There is a minimum English language requirement for students to attend EAP classes. EAP is designed to help students reach the English level required to attend universities. EAP courses normally offered in blocks of 10 weeks and the intakes are not as flexible as GE program.
SECONDARY SCHOOL PREPARATION
This course prepares International students to attend secondary schools in Australia. It familiarizes the students with teaching methods in Australia and introduces different subject Area.
